Karen Jonz Interview (April 2008)

How were you introduced to skateboarding? What got you started?

Bart Simpson.

What was your first set up?

No brand everything. Brazil has really weird materials.

What is the best and worst thing about your hometown?

Best is real food. Worst is no good ramps.

Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I paint and play.

Favorite new trick or trick you want to learn?

Gaytwist stale fish is my favorite new trick and I want to learn 540s and nollie flips.

Do you prefer to skate with guys or girls?

Describe your dream session.

Me and other 3, 4 people. Everyday.

What kind of music have you been listening to lately?

Aqueduct always gets me.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’m obsessed with vert ramps.

What do you have planned for this year?

Skate harder and skate more bowls and pools (cause I never do).

Shout outs and thanks?

Thanks to my parents, Dewitt from Element for the extra patience, all the kids from SD and Brazil, Felipe Vital, Marcelo Bastos, Macha, Murilo, Bob, Diana, my sister and my cousins.
