Lacey Baker Interview (2008)

How were you introduced to skateboarding? What got you started?

I remember standing and watching my brothers friends skating a mini ramp for hours.

What was your first set up?

Haha, some little Nash board from Walmart when I was like four years old.

What is the best and worst thing about your hometown?

The best thing about Covina is having Wesco skatepark 15 minutes away. The worst thing is having little bitch spots not worth filming on.

Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Play guitar, draw, paint and chill with friends.

Favorite skateboarders of all time?

Guy Mariano, Andrew Reynolds, Marc Johnson and Ronnie Creager.

Top 5 skate videos of all time?

Mouse, Yeah Right, Fully Flared, Video Days and The Reason.

Favorite new trick or trick you want to learn?

I like to practice them wheelie tricks.

Do you prefer to skate with guys or girls?

I guess I’d have to say guys because all the people I skate with are guys and I prefer them.

Describe your dream session.

My homies Ryan Miller, Justin Guillen, James Valdez, Vince Alvarez and Michael staying out in Barci skating every day and getting mad footy.

What kind of music have you been listening to lately?

A lot of Sublime, Bonethugs n Harmony, Biggie and oldies. I don’t really know, lots of mellow shit…

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I have 5 names…and athsma.

What do you have planned for this year?

Go skate.

Shout outs and thanks?

Gotta thank my Mommy, we have been through a lot, you know. Wesco heads, Courtney for hookin’ it up with all the rides, Michael and his family.
