Marisa Dal Santo Interview (April 2008)
How were you introduced to skateboarding? What got you started?
Pretty much just being a naive lil kid wanting to be like the badass 6th graders.
What was your first set up?
Birdhouse Jeremy Klein Grenade-man, Standard trucks, Spitfire 58’s, and Quickies!
What is the best and worst thing about your hometown?
All the homies and home cooked meals are sweet, and the local park is awesome too. The worst thing is definitely the boredom. There isn’t really much excitement going on.
Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Listen to tunes, sit around, eat a shitload of food.
Top 5 skateboarders of all time?
Cardiel, Reynolds, Joe Black, Greg Robinson, Someone else who kills it.
Top 5 skate videos of all time?
Welcome to Hell, Misled Youth, Hokus Pokus, The Storm, Destruction Squirrel.
Favorite new trick or trick you want to learn?
I recently discovered that kickflip rock fakies are real tight, but what I really wanna learn are christ airs.
Do you prefer to skate with guys or girls?
Whoever, I’m down to shred.
Describe your dream session.
All the homies from out here and back home, just cruisin around skating whatever. Goofing off with no plan or nothing.
What kind of music have you been listening to lately?
The usual punk junk, power pop, some 60’s garage type stuff.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I was voted homecoming queen senior year in high school.
What do you have planned for this year?
Hopefully go on a bunch of trips n’ film a part for the new Zero video.
Shout outs and thanks?
Everyone at Blackbox and Sole Tech, the roommates, all my dawggies and of course the DS crew. Also John McGuire for bringing white lightening into my life.
