Anne-Sophie Interview (June 2008)
How were you introduced to skateboarding? What got you started?
On my 14th birthday a friend of mine showed me how to skate mini-ramp. That was my gift from him!
What was your first set up?
A sick skateboard from Toys’R Us.
What are the Skirtboarders and how did you get hooked up with them?
The Skirtboarders are a crew of friends who skateboard, film, travel and party together. Its more like a bunch of sistas…I’ve been with them since the beginning.
What is the best and worst thing about your hometown?
I really think Montreal is the best city ever! People are nice, the air is fresh, the food is good and the partys are always crazy! The worst thing about it is the cold winter that stays too long.
Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Studying Television in university takes a lot of my time, so when I’m not studying or skating I like to snowboard and travel!
Top 5 skateboarders of all time?
Apple, Lutska, PLG, Koston, DeCenzo.
Top 5 skate videos of all time?
Its impossible to do a top 5 so : In Bloom, A Time to Shine, Fully Flared, Forecast, First Love, Getting Nowhere Faster, Sorry, Really Sorry, Get tricks or Die Tryin, Baker 1-2-3, Skate More, Elementality, What If?, That’s Life, Subject to Change, I Think, Its Time, there’s so many…
Trick you want to learn?
Haha! There’s way to many tricks I want to learn!
Do you prefer to skate with guys or girls?
For sure its nice to skate with boys sometimes cause you just want to skate like they do. But I definitely prefer to skate with girls cause boys are way to good and skate big spots!
Describe your dream session.
A dream session always come true when I’m skateboarding with all the Skirtboarders.
What kind of music have you been listening to lately?
I listen to so much music, but lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, The Killers, Modest Mouse and The Velvet Underground.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
That I’m better at snowboarding than skateboarding! But…I prefer skateboarding!
What do you have planned for this year?
Well, I’ve been in California for 2 months already and staying for one more. After that, I have some web tv hosting projects, back to university and some traveling with the Skirtboarders.
