Nyjah Huston is quoted saying “Some girls can skate but I personally believe that skateboarding is not for girls at all. Not one bit.” in the July 2013 issue of Thrasher Magazine. This statement has since gone viral in social media and the response in support of female skateboarders has been overwhelming. Though it is sad to see that opinions like this still exist, I think the support and encouragement of the other 99% is more important. Big thanks to Ed Tempelton and all the guys who have supported the girls for years!
Also, “that one girl” that did a 540 is actually two and their names are Lyn-z Adams Hawkins Pastrana and Alana Smith!
