Sky Brown has joined Skateboard GB’s national skateboard team with hopes of making it to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Sky along with Alex Decunha, Sam Beckett, Alex Hallford and Jordan Thackeray will benefit from UK Sport Aspiration Funding, to help them qualify.
“I’m so excited to tell everyone, that I have made the British Olympic Team and I will be looking to compete for Great Britain in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
I’m excited to just do MY BEST and make this a super FUN journey.
Of course, I’m going to try to win a gold medal. But MORE IMPORTANTLY by being the youngest ever British Olympian. I want to INSPIRE children around the world to just get out there.” – @skybrown
“The agonizingly cool Sky Brown surfs, skateboards and dances, and hopes to become Britain’s youngest ever summer Olympian by appearing at the Tokyo Games next year – she’ll be just 12.
Born in Miyazaki, Japan, to a British father and Japanese mother, Sky was on Thursday named as part of Great Britain’s skateboarding team aiming for the Olympics.” – BBC.com
