We started Sunday off at the LA High School banks.  Nobody can ever believe how much harder they are to skate than it looks in videos.

Rhianna wall ride.

Kat ready to film a line.

Tasha nosestall.

Next we drove by the Hollywood sign for the tourists and ended up at the Bronson banks.

Rhianna getting flippy.

The downside to this spot is the downhill bank to stream.

Jenny's board fell victim.

The LA tour wouldn't be complete without In-N-Out.

Some excited Australians.

Rhianna's face says it all.

About to witness and American 4th of July.

Ooh ahh!

Wheeeee!

Rhianna Arnold and Kat Williams just started a 2 month trip all around the US and Canada.  They landed in LA last night and were eager to skate, so I picked them up from their Hostel for a day of fun.  It was their first time here and I've never seen anyone so excited to see average things...ice cream truck, news stand, mail lady, Taco Bell, soda cups, every car on the freeway...I think you get the idea.

First stop Garvanza Skatepark in Pasadena to meet up with an old friend.  Kat and Rhianna waste no time and get straight to business.

Jenny Kim, Tasha Hastings and Morgen Lester.

Morgen frontside flipping over the hip.

Next stop, Griffith park ditch.

Rhianna 5-0.

Morgen before.

Morgen after.

Rhianna got a sudden bust of energy and wanted to wrestle.  None of the girls were up for it, so we asked Gabriel to fill in.  He didn't hold back and she got spun over his head, dropped on her head, folded in half and sat on...be he didn't make it out unscathed.

Next stop, new Hollenbeck Street Plaza.

Kat kickflip.

More please!

They tore out the old modular ramps and replaced them with this.

Next, stop LA Skate Palza.

The girls being introduced to American sized sodas.

After a full day of the LA skate tour we dropped the girls off and made plans to meet up tomorrow.  Ended the day following Morgen's motorized chair around Wal-Mart.

**I'm very sad to say that all the blog cam footage filmed on one of the cameras was lost.  There was some good stuff for this one including Rhianna being dropped on her head.  Rhi, did you delete it???

After the contest a few of us went to go check out the Santa Clarita Skatepark.

I had never been before, but had been hearing how good it was.

If you are ever in the Northern Los Angeles area I suggest you check it out.  Amazing!

Not exactly sure what Kristina was doing here, but they look impressed.

Taylor Beatty and Vanessa Torres.

Kristin Ebeling frontside tailslide through the snake run.

Caught lurking.

The last minute venue change didn't seem to effect the turn out for the Supergirl Am Jam.  Over 20 girls from all over the country and Canada came to the Skatelab in Simi Valley, CA to compete for a chance to win a spot in the Supergirl Pro.

Morgen Lester, Tasha Hastings and Kristina Narayan.

Alex White sighting!

Guest judges Abisha Alshebaiki and Racine Hopkins.

Vanessa Torres came out to support.

Sarah Molder flips the hip during jam chaos.

16 year old Samarria Brevard was the stand out of the day.  Huge lofty ollies, one of the few to hit the rail and her 360 flip down the grass gap during the prelims had the entire crowd on their feet screaming.

Celina Meehan from New Jersey was another crowd favorite.

Brooke Whipp from Utah with a solid kickflip down the grass during the finals.

Congratulations Brooke, see you in Venice!

Elizabeth Nitu 5-0.

Yil from Germany had a good time.

Mandatory group shot.

Ended the day with pizza, ice cream...

and blunt slides in the parking lot.

Due to time limitations the ladies division of the ProTec Pool Party was cancelled this year, but Cara-Beth Burnside was invited to skate in the Master's division with the guys she grew up skating with.

Cara-Beth skating the revamped Combi Bowl in front of a full house.

Some lurkers I found in the stands.

I barely recognized Priscilla and Allysha without their helmets on.  You can bet you will be able to see these two skating in the newly created Vans Girls Combi Classic which will be held in October.

Julie and future ripper Anika.

This year my Mom was out of town on Mother's Day, so I decide to go check out the Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama gathering at the Skate Lab.  I planned on covering the event, but I ended up skating most of the time instead...below is the limited stuff I did get.

Smile!

Mandy Esch warming up on the street course.

The bowl was the hot spot of the day.

Everyone was having a good time.

Once the sun went down we went to Mountain Mike's for some pizza before ending the day.

The Combi Bowl at Vans is getting a facelift next week, so I meet a few of the girls at the park to watch their last runs.  Amy Caron was there lurking as well.

Mimi Knoop and Cara-Beth Burnside ready to drop in.
