The Alliance is proud to announce that ESPN’s X Games will be adding in two new women’s skateboarding contests for 2013! One women’s street contest (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil stop) and one women’s park contest (Barcelona, Spain stop) will be added to the Global X calendar along with the pre-existing women’s street contest at X Games LA in August. We will be working closely with ESPN, California Productions, and our invite committees on planning, formats, and athlete selection for these events. Check back soon for more details!
From the ESPN site: “Four-time X Games gold-medalist skateboarder Cara-Beth Burnside said it should give women more incentive to push the sport. There are so many girls out there skating right now, and transition skating is a huge part of what they are skating,” Burnside said.

Women’s Street – April 18-21st: Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil
Women’s Park – May 16-19th: Barcelona, Spain
Women Street – Aug. 1-4th: Los Angeles, California – USA
